The Woodingtons move to PNG
21 June, 2012
4 and a 1/2 years ago the Woodington family arrived in Arnhem Land and learnt to call this place their home. They lived most of their time in Yirrkala and now have very fond memories that will remain with them as they move towards new adventures with MAF in Papua New Guinea.
Even though it was hard at times working and depending on the Yolngu to get things going, Paul appreciated the chance to be a daily witness while flying with MAF. The best thing for the whole family was the opportunities to speak into people’s lives.
Paul wanted to leave behind this word of encouragement: “Build on your faith as in 2 Peter 1:5-7. Arnhem Land is a place of opportunity. Prioritize your life biblically – God first, marriage second, parenting third – and this will set you up to have the most effective ministry.”
The Woodington’s fly from Cairns to Mt Hagen for six weeks of language learning and orientation. That will be followed by a bush orientation experience before they settle down in Goroka.
Here's a video of the Woodingtons reflecting on their time in Arnhem Land:
