  Description

  MAF's aircraft overhaul and heavy maintenance base is at Mareeba, a small town and airfield 60 kilometres inland from Cairns in Far North Queensland.

  The facility was re-located here in 2003 from Ballarat in Victoria, a move that has enhanced the level of engineering support for aircraft in MAF's PNG, East Timor, Coldstream and Arnhem Land areas of operation.

  At Mareeba MAF provides airframe, engine and component inspection and overhaul. Quality assurance and design, stores and administrative staff are based here.

  One of the aims of MAF Mareeba is to support mission aviation in the region.

  MAF Mareeba is a CASA Australia Approved Facility (627) and a CASA PNG Approved Facility (145/003).
