Princess Mary Flies with MAF Print E-mail
Once again, MAF is the airline of choice for passengers with regal connections needing access to remote areas.Just a few months after Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester, flew with MAF in Bangladesh to inspect aid projects, another Royal has stepped aboard a MAF aircraft.

This time it was ‘Aussie'  Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. She was in northern Uganda for a week late last year visiting refugee projects in her capacity as patron of the Danish Refugee Council.

Her delegation chose to fly with MAF, piloted by Simon Wunderli, to a number of projects and refugee camps, schools and orphanages around Gulu and Moyo in the north of the country.

"It has been a wonderful privilege to fly with HRH Crown Princess Mary," said MAF Uganda Program Manager, Steve Forsyth.

"We are pleased to be able to help raise the profile of the needs of people who have been driven from their homes and forced to live in the camps for a long time due to the fighting and abductions that have taken place over past years."

Mik Steen Berger from the Danish Refugee Council said the Crown Princess and her delegation chose to fly with MAF in Uganda because it (MAF) was recommended to him by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Gulu.

"Since then, we have had many contacts with MAF Uganda's Operations Manager Adrian in Kajjansi which confirmed MAFs professionalism, "he added.
