Rebuilding Bangladesh
In May 2009 Aila, a severe cyclonic storm, hit Bangladesh. Storm surge washed away houses, crops and livestock. Agricultural land was ruined by saltwater. In just a few devastating minutes, more than two million people became homeless and destitute.
The world’s attention quickly moved on, but MAF is still there, helping to rebuild lives that have been changed forever.
With the help of supporters, MAF is serving development projects all over Bangladesh – from fish farming to primary schools and rice growing to sewing.
But thousands of lives still need to be rebuilt – and they can be, but they need your help now. We need to keep the planes flying, especially the amphibious Cessna Caravan that has been so precious to Bangladesh’s most vulnerable cyclone survivors.
